Enter these coordinates into SAFE™ for each customer and create a map using these GPS readings. The great thing about GPS is that is doesn't matter what the physical address is when importing the data into a mapping program like Microsoft Streets & Trips®. They are imported faster with less errors than street addresses. Many Rural Routes or non-911 formatted addresses are not found on mapping software.
With the SAFE™ Program, you don't have to own a GPS handheld device to gather your customers' coordinates. Click on a LINK in the Customer Menu (private company version) or the Permit Records Menu (Agency Version) and the property's physical address will be used to get the GPS Coordinates. The address is "converted" to GPS using "Geocoding" from www.batchgeocode.com. It is a free service that provides this service.
